French Louis Style Chair

This stunning Louis XVI French chair is a delight to brighten any decor as a feature piece. They have turned and fluted legs typical of French Louis style chair and hand carved twisted ribbon carving around the framework. They are also decorated with acanthus leaf carving to the knees. The frame is hand made from kiln dried mahogany timber.

Antique French Style Chair Finishes

This particular antique French style chair is shown fully gilded in gold leaf gilding but can be done in many types of finishes.  They look just as wonderful in a painted finish or stained timber finish. The upholstery can be done in many different ways also. Plain upholstery as shown, or buttoned back upholstery, or even with a coil sprung seat instead of a separate seat cushion seat as shown.

There are also many upholstery options, such as types of cushion fill, springs, double piping, braid trims, cord trims, etcetera.
