This illustrated refectory table is made from solid Australian “Bird’s Eye Manna Gum”. It is an extremely rare as it not a harvested timber. It is a very exotic Australian timber that grows in dry desert like conditions. Therefore it is extremely dense and heavy timber. Aboriginals used Manna Gum timber to make shields because of it’s density and hardness.
A table like this could take decades or even centuries of use and abuse without showing signs of fatigue. There are There are many antique French dining table dating back as far as the 15th century! This is an absolutely unique and stunning table that is a one of a kind. The timber is simply unobtainable. This particular French provincial table was made from a complete fallen tree that we were lucky enough to obtain from a remote area.
